"I accept the Nobel Prize for Peace at a moment when twenty-two million Negroes of the United States of America are engaged in a creative battle to end the long night of racial injustice. I accept this award in behalf of a civil rights movement which is moving with determination and a majestic scorn for risk and danger to establish a reign of freedom and a rule of justice.

I am mindful that only yesterday in Birmingham, Alabama, our children, crying out for brotherhood, were answered with fire hoses, snarling dogs and even death. I am mindful that only yesterday in Philadelphia, Mississippi, young people seeing to secure the right to vote were brutalized and murdered. And only yesterday more than 40 houses of worship in the State of Mississippi alone were bombed or burned because they offered a sanctuary to those who would not accept segregation.

I am mindful that debilitating and grinding poverty afflicts my people and chains them to the lowest rung of the economic ladder.

Therefore, I must ask why this prize is awarded to a movement which is beleaguered and committed to unrelenting struggle; to a movement which has not won the very peace and brotherhood which is the essence of the Nobel Prize.

After contemplation, I conclude that this award which I receive on behalf of that movement is profound recognition that nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral question of our time -- the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression.

Civilization and violence are antithetical concepts. Negroes of the United States, following the people of India, have demonstrated that nonviolence is not sterile passivity, but a powerful moral force which makes for social transformation. Sooner or later all the people of the world will have to discover a way to live together in peace, and thereby transform this pending cosmic elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood.

If this is to be achieved, man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. The tortuous road which has led from Montgomery, Alabama, to Oslo bears witness to this truth. This is a road over which millions of Negroes are traveling to find a new sense of dignity.

This same road has opened for all Americans a new ear of progress and hope. It has led to a new Civil Rights bill, and it will, I am convinced, be widened and lengthened into a superhighway of justice as Negro and white men in increasing numbers create alliances to overcome their common problems.

I accept this award today with an abiding faith in America and an audacious faith in the future of mankind. I refuse to accept despair as the final response to the ambiguities of history. I refuse to accept the idea that the "isness" of man's present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the eternal "oughtness" that forever confronts him.

I refuse to accept the idea that man is mere flotsom and jetsom in the river of life unable to influence the unfolding events which surround him. I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality.

I refuse to accept the cynical notion that nation after nation must spiral down a militaristic stairway into the hell of thermonuclear destruction. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right temporarily defeated is stronger than evil triumphant.

I believe that even amid today's motor bursts and whining bullets, there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow. I believe that wounded justice, lying prostrate on the blood-flowing streets of our nations, can be lifted from this dust of shame to reign supreme among the children of men.

I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, men other-centered can build up. I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land.

"And the lion and the lamb shall lie down together and every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree and none shall be afraid."

I still believe that we shall overcome.

This faith can give us courage to face the uncertainties of the future. It will give our tired feet new strength as we continue our forward stride toward the city of freedom. When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds and our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, we will know that we are living in the creative turmoil of a genuine civilization struggling to be born.

Today I come to Oslo as a trustee, inspired and with renewed dedication to humanity. I accept this prize on behalf of all men who love peace and brotherhood. I say I come as a trustee, for in the depths of my heart I am aware that this prize is much more than an honor to me personally.

Every time I take a flight I am always mindful of the man people who make a successful journey possible -- the known pilots and the unknown ground crew.

So you honor the dedicated pilots of our struggle who have sat at the controls as the freedom movement soared into orbit. You honor, once again, Chief (Albert) Luthuli of South Africa, whose struggles with and for his people, are still met with the most brutal expression of man's inhumanity to man.

You honor the ground crew without whose labor and sacrifices the jet flights to freedom could never have left the earth.

Most of these people will never make the headlines and their names will not appear in Who's Who. Yet when years have rolled past and when the blazing light of truth is focused on this marvelous age in which we live -- men and women will know and children will be taught that we have a finer land, a better people, a more noble civilization -- because these humble children of God were willing to suffer for righteousness' sake.

I think Alfred Nobel would know what I mean when I say that I accept this award in the spirit of a curator of some precious heirloom which he holds in trust for its true owners -- all those to whom beauty is truth and truth beauty -- and in whose eyes the beauty of genuine brotherhood and peace is more precious than diamonds or silver or gold."

"Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.

But one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition.

In a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check --- a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds". But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check --- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of God's children. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the Negro. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundation of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We can not walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.

I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed --- "We hold these these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, and rough places will be made plains, and the crooked places will be made straight,and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith with which I return to the south. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning "My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

And if America is to be a great nation this must come true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado.

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California.

But not only that --- let freedom ring from Stone Mountain in Georgia.

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual,

I think you should all read these two speeches. I respect Martin Luther King jr. to the point of getting goosebumps whenever I read his speeches. He represents something very strong and powerful, a movement and cause that, although I was not able to see firsthand, I am sure I would have agreed with and participated in.

Martin Luther King jr. truly deserved today as a holiday. He represents the human struggle. This is one of the few holidays I both agree with, and like to celebrate. I hope we can all learn a lesson from the doctor.

To harvest opium, the skin of the ripening pods is scored by a sharp blade. The slashes exude a white, milky latex, which dries to a sticky brown resin that is scraped off the pods as raw opium.

Opium has powerful narcotic properties, and is used as a painkiller in extreme circumstances, such as in terminal stages of cancer. Therefore, a small amount of legal production is discreetly conducted under strict supervision by law enforcement. The leading legal producers of opium are France and Australia. The French company Francopia produces 20% to 25% of the world's total, with total sales of approximately 60 million € (1 Euro (EUR) = 1.19380 Dollar (USD)).


Opium preparation

Raw opium must be processed and refined (called "cooking") before it is suitable for smoking. The raw opium is first dissolved in water and simmered over a low heat. The brown solution is then filtered to remove the insoluble vegetable waxes and then evaporated over a low heat. The result is a smokable form of opium with a considerably higher morphine content percentage-wise than the raw latex. This is then pressed into bricks and either transported to heroin laboratories or used as is.

Although opium is used in the form of paregoric to treat diarrhea, most opium imported into the United States is broken down into its alkaloid constituents. These alkaloids are divided into two distinct chemical classes, phenanthrenes and isoquinolines. The principal phenanthrenes are morphine, codeine, and thebaine, while the isoquinolines have no significant central nervous system effects and are not regulated under the Controlled Substances Act. Opium is also processed into heroin, and most current drug use occurs with processed derivatives rather than with raw opium.


Seed Capsules

The seed capsules also contain morphine, codeine, and other alkaloids. These pods can be boiled in water to produce a bitter tea that induces a long-lasting intoxication. Addiction to poppy tea is rare, but does occur.


Chemical properties and physiological effects

Opium resin contains two groups of alkaloids: phenanthrenes (including morphine and codeine) and benzylisoquinolines (including papaverine). Morphine is by far the most prevalent and important alkaloid in opium, consisting of 10%-16% of the total. It binds to and activates μ-opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, stomach and intestine. Regular use, even for a few days, invariably leads to physical tolerance and dependence. Various degrees of psychological addiction can occur, though this is relatively rare when opioids are properly used -- for treatment of pain, rather than for euphoric effects. These mechanisms result from changes in nervous system receptors in response to the drug. In response to the drug, the brain creates new receptors for opiates. These receptors are "pseudo" receptors and do not work. When the opiates are out of the body, the brain has more receptors than before the use of the drug, but only the same amount of endogenous opiate (endorphins) to fill these receptors.

I can't sleep.
My damn fan is making noise in for 3 seconds, every ten seconds. Like an atomic clock of annoyance.

Have you ever sat and thought about things you did in the past? How much of a little prick you were, or how bratty or snobby you were?
Maybe one day your dad was really busy, had to go somewhere, in a rush. You bitch and moan about a promised toy. He says to you "_____, I am very busy, but I have a deal. You can make me take you to the toy store, which will make me late, to buy you that toy. You can do that, or you can wait until tomorrow, and I will buy you the biggest toy you want." Being the little dickhead you are, the impatient, selfish, bratty fuck- you take the former. You want that toy NOW. You have no comprehension of other people's feelings. You do not understand investment and reward.
Or maybe as a child you felt the drive and need to kill animals.
Perhaps you would hunt lizards, and torture them. You would take perfume, pour them on a lizard that you stapled to a piece of cardboard, find matches, and watch the reptile burn alive and squirm. Or you would use a nailgun and have target practice at the creature. Perhaps force-feed a lizard some cleaning products. Maybe nail it's mouth shut. Maybe drown a few in a pool by tying it down, so that it's oxygen bubble would slowly deplete.
Maybe you used to kill bigger animals. A Cat? Turtle? Chicken? Whatever it was. Maybe one day you felt the desire to place a new kitten in a toy chest, sit on the lid, and suffocate it. Or perhaps you got upset at a turtle for wandering off, and responded by throwing it against a stucco wall until all you could see was modern art. Hammer+baby chick=


I was a deranged child. Turns out I was a genius though. I questioned the existence and logic of Santa Claus before I could understand why I was different than my family. Apparently being a different skin color went above and beyond me, but I had a difficulty believing Santa Claus could come into my chimney-less house, along with all the other millions of kids-even the kids with no houses at all, the ones who got nothing for Christmas except cold and suffering, and deliver presents.

Genius is marked by insanity is marked by loneliness.
In ten minutes I've managed to tell you a story you probably didn't care about.
I thrive on company. I hate being alone. I hate the thought of being alone. I hate the thought of dying alone. And everyone dies alone. I hate death, and I gave it away so freely as a child. Maybe the more I gave away the less there would be for me.

The glory of Hamlet. The most important question ever asked. To BE or NOT to be, What is nobler, what is right? Is the easy path the right path? Is the hard path even worth it? What does death hold for us? What proof or validation does death offer?

More importantly, what proof does life offer? What in life will tell us what happens in death? That which attempts to tell us lacks in so many ways. Why should I believe in God when the first cause being God seems just as likely as the first cause being the Big Bang. How is God all-loving when men are created to suffer? What is the purpose of life when we are to die, why bother with it all? If our destiny is known, by both the Creator and ourselves[a destiny of death] what purpose is it to have been made at all? What are we, mere mortals-incapable of understanding perfection, to offer? Does God have self-esteem problems? Is God going through his awkward teen years which so plagues us all?

We have no free will if we cannot change our ultimate destiny, which is God's will. We are not loved if we are created to go to Hell. We are truly alone in our lives and in our ends. We are alone in the destructive and hostile universe. We have no true truth, no validation, no reason or purpose or security. We are hurtling through an unknown space, with unknown rules and boundaries, set here by an unknown cause with unknown endings. We are insignificant specks on an insignificant dot rotating round an insignificant blip in the incomprehensibly large universe.

"Have Faith, Ryan." Faith in what, I ask? Why have faith in anything? Why not have faith in everything if I'm going to have faith in one thing? Jesus seems just as possible as Apollo or Ganesha, does He not?

"Do not try to wrap your mind around infinite things, Ryan." What is truly infinite? What does not have boundaries? Rules? Laws? Exceptions? The Universe only has so much mass, is only so large, and is following certain rules. God is imprisoned within the Bible, He must be what He is described as being, otherwise He is not what He is supposed to be, and is therefore not what people are worshiping. Why should I not try to question existence? My mind and boundaries seem just as limited or limitless as the Universe. There are more possible brain states(formations of particular connections) than atoms in the universe(Thank you Carl Sagan). Why not judge God; if He made me, it must be my purpose. If He did not make me, then why not attempt to understand the universe?

I'm trying to sift and sort through existence, I need something to ground me. I need some solace, I need some sort of reassurance. I need to know what I am, what I am here for, where I could have come from(or at least where I did NOT come from).

I live for the hope that there is no end. I live for the hope that I can understand myself and my surroundings. I live for the hope that I won't have to find out what the end is like; I don't want to die. I know what my life calling is; I know what I want.

I see so many people hurrying about their lives, doing nothing. They achieve nothing meaningful, they've thought nothing grand, they've tried for nothing magnificent. Everyone seems to be complacent in their superficial lives. Money, sex, wealth, material things will somehow make them happy. No intelligence or creativity or real purpose or change in life. Makes me sick.

Take a look at your lives, everyone. Do you truly matter? Does being a rich doctor matter? Don't settle in whatever you do, make something, do something, BE something.

Don't waste life and don't take life away-it's the only unknown we have, so don't try to measure it's value- DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

Consider the following:

There is a man in a mental hospital.

He is insane.(The context of insanity in this sense is mostly the same as criminal law. That is to say that this man being insane is that his thoughts, judgements, and reasoning deviate from others, and he can not differentiate between right/wrong, and normal/abnormal. Thus, he is insane.)

To become sane, this man must admit he is insane, right?

By admitting he is insane, he is acknowledging his differences and is assimilating normal schemas and perspectives into his own and is thus able to differentiate right/wrong, normal/abnormal.
If one is insane because they feel their thoughts to be right when they are not(in context to normal situations/people), then one would be sane when they think on the same level/way as most people do, or as the culture dictates.

Therefore, by admitting he is insane, he is now sane.

So, to become sane, this man must admit insanity.

To be sane, he must be insane.

I hope you all understand the implications of the above scenario. I love the inability of the english language to convey all thoughts and emotions. Thus is the origin of humor, the fixing or correcting of prior-held thoughts and perceptions with new, confronting situations.

"Here you go guys.. here is the best way...

Take a large glass measuring cup (glass, not plastic) and fill it about an inch or two with acetone (available in the paint section of any hardware store). Crush up your adulterated cocaine and pour the entire contents into the glass meauring cup containing the acetone. Cocaine is entirely insoluble in acetone (will not dissolve), but most undesirable cuts are and will dissolve immediately, so don't worry about losing any cocaine.

Stir the measuring cup containing the mix of acetone and cocaine for at least 3-5 minutes. The mixture will most likely be very cloudy at this point. Let the contents completely settle until the acetone is clear again and you can see the cocaine clearly at the bottom. This usually takes anywhere from 5-20 minutes. While waiting for this to settle, proceed with the next step.

Take a tall drinking glass and place a funnel inside the top. You can get a plastic oil funnel at any auto parts store. It is important that the bottom of the funnel not touch the bottom of the drinking glass. In fact, it should be reach no farther than half way down the glass.

Carefully place a flat bottomed, non-serated coffee filter paper inside of the funnel.

Now, carefully pour your acetone/cocaine mixture into the filter laced funnel. The acetone containing the adulterants will run thru the filter paper and down into the drinking glass. Make sure you don't use more acetone than your drinking glass will hold and make sure the acetone does not come up and touch the bottom of your funnel.

Alot of the cocaine will stay behind in the measuring cup after pouring it into the funnel. No problem. Simply pour some fresh acetone into the measuring cup, swish it around to collect the remaining cocaine and then pour it into the filter/funnel with the rest of the cocaine.

Allow the acetone to drip thru the filter/funnel until it stops dripping completely. This process usually takes around 5-10 minutes. Once it has run thru, carefully remove the filter containing the cocaine from the funnel.

The cocaine should be dry at his point. Carefully open the filter paper over a dinner plate and let the cocaine fall out. Any cocaine that is stuck on the filter paper can easily be scraped off with a non-serated butter knife.

The cocaine will be very pearlescent at this point (the way it should be). You can now crush up the cocaine to speed up the evaporation process.

IMPORTANT: It is very important that you let the acetone completely evaporate before snorting. Even though the cocaine is dry at this point, doesn't mean that all of the acetone is evaportated. Evaporation usually takes at least an hour, but it is preferable that you let it dry overnight. So its best to do this procedure the night before you party!

This process will result in a much more pure product (probably around 90% purity). The high will be much more pleasant and enjoyable. The look will amaze your friends. It is the most pearlescent, crystalline looking cocaine you will ever see!

Though simple to perform, this knowledge has taken me over 15 years to obtain. If your a junky or simply a recreational user, this is something you have to try!

What is everyone's opinion on drugs?
If you knew there were ways to purify certain drugs, like cocaine, or to home-grow plants like Cannabis or Peyote Cactus(mescaline is dervied from this cactus), would you?

What do you think of alcohol being LEGAL, but drugs like marijuana being ILLEGAL, when all research has led to the conclusion that alcohol is far more dangerous, both physically and societally, than marijuana?

Do you think governments have ulterior motives for outlawing drugs? Do any of you know the microscope used to be outlawed(hundreds of years ago, in Europe)? What do you think of the comparison between microscopes being outlawed for allowing the exploration and study of the unknown(both scientifically and spiritually) and the outlawing of drugs and most specifically drugs like LSD?

What do you think of the government allowing and collecting billions from taxes on drugs like tobacco(why does the government allow this killer to remain on the streets other than to collect taxes from) and alcohol, while outlawing drugs like marijuana(which can be grown at home, and cured at home, requiring no manufacturing, and thus no way to sell/collect taxes)? What do you think of the government allowing drugs like Salvia to be illegal(an intense dissociative) and disallowing more mild drugs like marijuana to be legal?

For those who think drugs are bad because they are said to be from society or the government, then that's fine, your morality has not yet been developed(see preconventional, conventional, and postconventional morality stages in a psychology textbook). Releasing slaves, women voting, and a black's freedom were once illegal too. This proves that illegality does not mean immorality, or that something is bad or harmful to oneself or society.

Keep in mind I DO NOT SMOKE MARIAJUANA. I haven't for years now, just questions to consider. Think away gentlemen.

I constantly hear of girls and boys who are having sex, even people I used to call my close friends, having sex. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if you have sex. I do, however, have a problem if you call yourself a Christian and knowingly disobey the Bible. I myself am not a Christian, but I do see the importance of owning up to one's actions. If you label yourself or abide by a strict set of morals or beliefs, you cannot choose what you want to believe or abide by. Christianity is already defined, if you choose to call yourself a CHRISTIAN, you must do Christian things and abide by Christian laws and morals. You can believe in God, and not follow the Bible-a lot of people do this. Nothing wrong with that. The improper and wrong thing to do is to label yourself something that you are clearly violating. I think it's a travesty to call yourself a good Christian and knowingly break commandments and laws left and right, even ones clearly expressed such as no pre-marital sex.

There is an analogy to being straight edge and having sex or drinking, too. I was talking to my good friend Randy Vale today about a friend he had. His friend called himself edge, which means that you "don't drink/ don't smoke/ don't fuck."(they are lyrics from Ian Mackye-lead singer of Minor Threat, and those lyrics coined the counterculture movement of being straightedge). His friend, however, was having promicuous sex left and right, and thought that he could define edge as he wanted to. The flaw in his logic is that you cannot re-define a philosophy or culture into something that goes AGAINST its very basis for the purpose of allowing your infidelities to slide. You cannot label yourself a follower of an idea and hold beliefs or do actions that clearly violate the premise of the idea you've labeled yourself as following. You cannot be edge and smoke, or drink, or fuck. You cannot be Christian and have sex.

So, for all you kids who like to label yourself Christian, and go out and have sex-look at what you're doing. Not only do you make yourself look like a dumbass for being unable to follow simple logistics, but you're debauching a system that should and could have good merits.

If you're not married, and aren't a virgin, YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN. You're a fucking sellout, and you're defiling the purity and sanctity of the very God you claim to love and worship. I may not be Christian, but I respect other ideas and philosophies. I would never debauch a religion or belief, or even let my own morals and ethics down by labeling myself as a believer or holder of those truths and ARRANTLY disobey and violate the fundamentals of the belief.

Hopefully you guys understand. Not a virgin? Not a Christian, then.

I will be playing drums for a jazz band at Oregano's at 8pm on Wednesday night. Oregano's is a pizza joint in the same shopping center as Nice Music.

The band just sprung it on me today so I'm probably gonna suck quite horribly, but it should be good fun anyways. Our bassist is really, really good, I have no idea how good our guitarist is, and our singer is quite wonderufl. It should be quite entertaining even if you're not into jazz. Best to get there at 9 because it will be less crowded.

I'm taking part in organizing a collaborative livejournal effort, much like swinger. (Remember, swinger is just a collection of thoughts by anyone who wants to post, there is no owner, only people who bite the bullet.)

The first entry will be the two Qualificationist Manifestos
Followed by the deriving of God(a physical interpretation to the God force, and a more mathematical and physical representation of the impact of faith and religion on a soul)

If you would like to post an entry for hotreligion, here are the requirements:

Edit it. I don't want to see shitty grammar, I don't want to see missspellings.
Keep it clean. It's a culmination of different religions.
Evidence. Try to back yourself up, use quotes from the Bible, pictures, drawings, something besides the words you type for an entry.
IM me(Ryan) or anyone else who has the password, and they'll give it to you to use. Update as often as you want, but keep in mind I may want to tidy things up a bit.
It is not limited to religion; philosophy, aesthetics, et cetera, are all open for discussion.
